Thanks to the Internet, it's easier than ever to find the information you're looking for. Companies should be interested in being present in order to be able to present their offers and solutions to consumers in their search for information.

But a company-owned blog is an excellent starting point - as long as it is properly addressed. In this post, we'd like to share some of the best tips and tricks you can use to help make sure you're found on Google and Co.

This is how you can achieve a better ranking on Google

1. Do not be afraid of complex topics

Search algorithms are constantly being improved and are as intelligent as ever. Search engines are now able to detect relationships between different search queries, and this development is of great importance to marketers.

Nowadays, users no longer enter keywords, but often use more complex well-formed search queries. Accordingly, Google and other search engines are expected to be able to make the associated connections.

For example, if you enter the keywords "movie about clown doctor" in Google, the first hit will be Patch Adams, even though the search words do not appear in the movie title.

What do we learn from this: search engines are highly intuitive. Google recognizes exactly what users are looking for without them having to formulate their questions explicitly. Try it out for yourself!

Blog team is now using theme clusters instead of specific keywords in its blog strategy.

First, the topics that should have priority should be identified. Then, the existing blog articles were assigned to the previously mentioned clusters, and new content was created for those clusters.

Then, at each opportunity, internal and external links were created to build connection points between content belonging to the same topic cluster.

In this way, search engines can understand the connections between the individual elements. A restructuring of content is very time consuming but ultimately pays off.

2. Provide (short) answers to specific questions

Let's take another look at the above example with Patch Adams. If you enter the keywords "movie about clown doctor" in Google, under the search bar may appear a small box with a summary of the movie.

So you do not even have to click on a link to get an answer. Google presents the answer to the results page.

This answer field is a "Featured Snippet," such as a "highlighted text snippet." If you have not yet optimized your blogs for these snippets, you should not waste time

because the advantages speak for themselves: Google retrieves the snippets from one of the pages that appear on the first page of the search results.

The snippet does not necessarily have to be part of the page that occupies 1st place in the ranking. As a result, content that is not displayed as the top result can even be placed above the top result.

But which content is suitable for snippets? In most cases, Google will provide answers to W questions, such as Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How.

If you believe that your content can answer these questions, be sure to formulate an appropriate answer. Maybe you're lucky, and Google uses your content for a snippet on a specific issue.

Another important reason for prioritizing snippets is the voice search. Voice search is on the rise and, according to Google and Bing, is expected to account for 50% of all mobile searches by 2020.

Virtual assistants use featured snippets as the preferred answer. Therefore, it is important to keep pace with these developments.

3. Revise outdated blog posts

The creation of new content has several advantages: Additional pages that are indexed by search engines to provide users with the information they need.

Also, new content contributes to strengthening one's position in the industry. Any experienced blogger, however, knows that it may take some time for new posts to get noticed.

Much of the traffic is often generated by older posts that have had more time to be noticed, backlinked, and ranked in search engine rankings.

One of most successful SEO strategies was the revised and optimization of older posts. It's about refreshing older posts by improving and revising content, keywords, and links.

It simply uses the already existing authority of these posts in the search engines. Revising the content is rewarded by attracting new visitors to the content.
